La nariz está determinada en gran medida por un hueso y cartílago que se encuentra bajo la piel de la misma, a partir de incisiones en el interior de la nariz, se moldea o remueve dichas estructuras profundas tanto del hueso o cartílago nasal así como también, para escupir la punta de la nariz; a veces, es necesario hacer una incisión en la piel que divide los orificios nasales (columela) cuando es necesario estrechar las alas de la nariz, dicha incisión cicatriza muy bien, quedando una línea imperceptible en la base de la nariz.
